Wilfred EMMS, son of Walter EMMS (c. 1857- ) and Elizabeth ROLFE (c. 1858- ), was born on 12th February 1898 in North Lopham, Norfolk. Wilfred was attested on 17th July 1915 and appointed to The Norfolk Regiment, Private 19760, assigned on 31st July 1915 to 3rd Battalion Norfolk Regiment, and later to the 7th Battalion on 29th December 1915. Whilst serving in France he was killed on 3rd July 1916.

Military:	Wilfred was attested on 17 July 1915. - appointed to The Norfolk Regiment, Pte. 19760. On 31 July 1915 Wilfred he was posted to 3rd Bn. Norfolk Regiment, and on to the 7th Bn. on 29.12.1915, serving in France. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission grave registration entry for Albert was “EMMS, Pte. W., 19760. 7th Bn. Norfolk Regt. 3rd July, 1916. Age 18. Son of Walter and Elizabeth Emms, of Jubilee Lane, North Lopham, Diss, Norfolk.”
Newspaper:	Diss Express and Norfolk and Suffolk Journal, 21 Jul 1916 DEATHS. EMMS. - July 2rd, died from wounds received in action in France, Private Wilfred Emms, youngest and seventh beloved son of Walter and Elizabeth Emms, North Lopham, aged 18 years.
